| Faith in Action now airing on Catholic Life Television |

Baton Rouge—This week, David Aguillard, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Baton Rouge announced the premier of Faith in Action on catholiclife television after a year-long hiatus. Carol Spruell, CCDBR communication coordinator, hosts the ½ hour, interview format and focuses on topics such as poverty reduction, disaster recovery and response, immigration, employment and more. Guest will include local and national nonprofit leaders, religious leaders, government officials, agency representatives and people who have benefitted from the agency’s services. “Faith in Action has been a powerful tool to spread knowledge about issues in our society,” said Spruell. “In today’s world, no one lives in a silo. Issues like poverty affects people of all income levels. Everyone has a stake in disaster recovery. My goal for every interview is to expose how the issues affect all of society and what action people can take to become part of the solution.” Spruell says this week’s topic is Gustav long term recovery with guests Rev. Robin McCullough-Bade of Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge and Jane Aslam, of ICNA Relief USA. Faith in Action began airing in 2001 soon after the television station went live on Cox Communications channel 15. catholiclife television is one of only 10 such diocesan-based stations in the country. The revamped show features a new set design and revamped graphics. catholiclife television programming can now be viewed live on www.catholiclifetv.org. On Cox Communications in Baton Rouge, Faith in Action airs on Channel 15 Sundays at 8:30 pm, Tuesdays at 7:00 pm, Wednesdays at 12:00 pm, Thursdays at 8:00 pm, and Saturdays at 11:30 am. On Charter Communications in New Roads on Channel 44 and St. James on Channel 10, catch it on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm, Thursdays at 8:00 pm, and Saturdays at 11:30 am.
